Chemistry

Answer:

4d¹ electron has quantum numbers

n=4; l=2; ml= -2; ms= 1/2

Explanation:

There are 4 quantum numbers, namely

the principal quantum number (n)

the orbital angular momentum quantum number (l)

the magnetic quantum number (ml)

the electron spin quantum number (ms)

The principal quantum number describes the orbit or shell of the electron

here n = 4 ⇒ electron is in 4th shell

the orbital angular momentum quantum number describes the shape of orbital the electron is present in.

l= 0 ⇒ s-orbital

l= 1 ⇒ p-orbital

l= 2 ⇒ d-orbital

l= 3 ⇒ f-orbital

In our case l= 2 ⇒ p-orbital

ml specifies in which orbital electron is present of given shape

ml has 2l+1 values,which range from -1 to +l

here l = 2 ⇒ ml has 2(2)+1 = 5 values (-2 to +2)

so electron is present in one of the five d-orbitals

ms represents the spin of electron (+1/2 or -1/2)

If +1/2 represents clockwise then -1/2 represents anti-clockwise and vice-versa.

⇒ 4d¹ electron has quantum numbers

n=4; l=2; ml= -2; ms= 1/2.

At 25 °C, an aqueous solution has an equilibrium concentration of 0.00253 M for a generic cation, A2+(aq), and 0.00506 M for a g
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

The equilibrium constant Ksp of the generic salt AB2 = 6.4777 *10^-8 M

Explanation:

Step 1: The balanced equation

AB2 ⇒ A2+ + 2B-

Step 2: Given data

Concentration of A2+ = 0.00253 M

Concentration of B- = 0.00506 M

Step 3: Calculate the equilibrium constant

Equilibrium constant Ksp of [AB2] = [A2+][B-]²

Ksp = 0.00253 * 0.00506² = 6.4777 *10^-8 M

The equilibrium constant Ksp of the generic salt AB2 = 6.4777 *10^-8 M

To what temperature must 7. 50 moles of a gas have to be heated in a 20L container in order for it to exert a pressure of 6. 50
givi [52]

Answer:

21.14 K

Explanation:

We know the Ideal Gas Equation is :-

PV = nRT

=> T = PV/nR

=> T = 6.5 x 20 / 7.5 x 0.082

=> T = 130 / 6.15

=> T = 21.14 K

Which part of a star does the star’s energy come from?
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

For most of its active life, a star shines due to thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium in its core, releasing energy that traverses the star's interior and then radiates into outer space. At the end of a star's lifetime, its core becomes a stellar remnant : a white dwarf , a neutron star , or, if it is sufficiently massive, a black hole .
