Tone is the feeling the writing piece gives off. It will set the stage for the whole writing piece, whether it be dark and mysterious, or happy, or sad

Simile's directly compare things through similarities. It always uses LIKE and AS

Metaphors compare things more directly, WITHOUT using like or as.

Hope that helped :)

What is one way that the setting of Hell is important in the Inferno?
Mkey [24]

Answer:

A. Hell's organization from least sins to worst sins reflects Dante's

belief in an orderly universe.

Explanation:

The strict way in which Dante organized his long narrative poem, the Comedy, shows that, for him, and to most people of his age, the world was organized according to mathematical principles of order, which were reflected in the way that the purgatory, hell, and heaven sections of the work are set up in corresponding ways.

DIA [1.3K]

Answer: The answer is below.

Comparing:

Both of the themes from these excerpts are about how you can be able to learn despite differences in yourself from others.

Contrasting:

The theme of The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is that you are able to do anything you put your mind to, even if you are physically impaired in some way.

The main theme in the excerpt of The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, is that you can learn how to do things even if you are of a different ethnic background.

In other words, the main character in the story are different in different ways (one is blind, the other was of a different ethnicity)
