To allow Germany to pay reparations to France Great Britain was the goal of the Dawes Plan which was presented by the Dawes Committee, chaired by Charles G. Dawes in 1924.

The plan was initiate to resolves the issue of First World War’s repayment which Germany had to pay. It ended the crisis in European diplomacy and Treaty of Versailles after the World War I.

Dewas received ‘Nobel Peace prize’ for his work and solving the issue of Germany debt in 1925.

But Germany could not meet its obligations and was about to collapse financially. In 1924, during Calvin Coolidge presidency, a budget director named Charles Dawes presented a plan to find a solution to the problem. The plan gave Germany more time to pay the reparations and it agreed to an American loans to Germany.
