  • Lateral hypothalamus is also known as lateral hypthalamic area consists of primary hypocretin(orexinergic) nucleus  present within the hypothalamus  which widely projects  throughout the nervous system.This set of neurons  mediates a no.of cognitive as well as physical processes such as promotion of feeding behaviour & arousal,regulation of body temperature,digestive functions, blood pressure & reduction of pain perception.
