A function is a special relationship where each input has a single output.

{(0, 1), (1, 3), (1, 5), (2, 6)} NOT because for x = 1 we have y = 3 and y = 5

{(0, 0), (1, 2), (2, 4), (3, 4)} YES

{(0, 1), (1, 2), (2, 3), (2, 4)} NOT because for x = 2 we have y = 3 and y = 4

{(0, 0), (0, 2), (<em><u>2</u></em>, 2), (<em><u>2</u></em>, 4)} NOT because for x = 0 we have y = 0 and y = 2

and for x = 2 we have y = 2 and y = 4.

functions will not have any repeating x values...they can have repeating y values, just not the x ones.

so ur functions are : A, C, and E

Please show your work on a piece of paper.
Misha Larkins [42]

1. It is fairly tedious to use construction techniques on paper to rotate a figure 90°, and somewhat error-prone to use a protractor. So, the attached makes use of a geometry program to rotate the parallel lines. In each case, XE is rotated to X'E.

d) You notice the resulting lines A'B' and C'D' are both perpendicular to the original AB and CD and are parallel to each other. They are the same distance apart that they were. (Rotation does not change distances or angles.)

2.

a) ∠ABC is supplementary to ∠CBD, so has measure 180°-50° = 130°.

b) ∠EBD is a vertical angle to ∠ABC, so has the same measure, 130°.

c) ∠ABE is a vertical angle to ∠DBC, so has the same measure, 50°.

What is the equation of the circle with center (0, 1) and a radius of 10?
victus00 [196]

<u>Answer:  </u>

The equation of the circle with center (0, 1) and a radius of 10 is \bold{x^{2} + y^{2} - 2y-99 = 0}

<u>Solution: </u>

Equation of circle whose center (h, k) and radius r is given as,

(x-h)^{2} + (y-k)^{2} = r^{2} ---- eqn 1

From question, given that the circle has radius 10 and center (0, 1). We have to find the equation of the circle.

Hence we get, h = 0 ; k = 1; r = 10

By using eqn 1, the equation of circle whose center (0, 1) and radius 10 is given as

(x-0)^{2} + (y - 1)^{2} = 10^{2}

On Simplifying we get

x^{2} + (y-1)^{2} = 10^{2}

Expand (y-1)^{2} using the formula (a-b)^{2} = a^{2} - 2ab + b^{2}

x^{2} + y^{2} - 2y + 1 = 10^{2}

x^{2} + y^{2} - 2y + 1 = 100

x^{2} + y^{2} - 2y + 1-100 = 0

x^{2} + y^{2}- 2y- 99 = 0

Hence equation of the circle with center (0, 1) and a radius of 10 is  \bold{x^{2}+y^{2}-2 y-99=0}
