Answer:

2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Usually when you try and find the area you would multiply but you don't have one of the numbers to multiply, so what is the oppisite of multiplication? Divison. You would divide the area by the highth. so it would be 4.5 divided by 1.8. 4.5 divided by 1.8 equals 2.5. And to make sure your answer is correct you would multiply 1.8 times 2.5 wich does equal 4.5. The highth is 1.8, the Length is 2.5, and the are is 4.5

What scale factor was applied to the first rectangle to get the resulting image?
madam [21]

Answer:

The scale factor for the resultant rectangle is\frac{2}{5} units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given two rectangles with sides 3 units and 7.5 units.

We have to find the scaling factors so that we can obtain bigger rectangle of 7.5 units from smaller rectangle of 3 units.

Scale factor is defined as the ratio  of corresponding side of given figure to the corresponding side of resulting figure.

That is \text{Scale factor}=\frac{\text{length of side of given figure}}{\text{length of side of resulting figure}}

Here, \text{Scale factor}=\frac{\text{length of side of given rectangle }}{\text{length of side of resulting rectangle}}

\text{Scale factor}=\frac{3}{7.5}=\frac{2}{5}

Hence, the scale factor for the resultant rectangle is\frac{2}{5} units.

<em />\huge{\boxed{60\ \text{ft}^{3}}}<em />

<em>We will assume the tent is in the shape of a triangular prism.</em>

The volume of a triangular prism can be found with the following formula, where b is the width at the base, h is the height, and l is the length.

V=\frac{1}{2}bhl

Substitute in the known values.

V=\frac{1}{2}*5*3*8

Simplify — use multiplication.

V=\frac{5}{2}*3*8

V=\frac{15}{2}*8

V=\frac{120}{2}

Simplify — use division.

V=\large{\boxed{60\ \text{ft}^{3}}}

The volume — or in this case, the amount of living space — is 60\ \text{cubic feet}.
