The answer is behavioral conditioning. Behavioral conditioning is an empirically-supported treatment because of its goal is to understand human behavior. It assumes that all behavior is produced by a stimulus, a consequence of the human's behavior which includes a reward and punishment system. According to Skinner, behaviors can be shaped through reinforcement. Good behaviors are rewarded and bad behaviors are reprimanded.
