Answer:

It had a strong impact because it brought tragic events into people's homes

Explanation:

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22 of 1963 in Dallas, Texas; his death had a strong impact on Americans especially due to the role of media. Most citizens in the U.S. get to know about Kennedy assassination through television and the event was covered by television networks in the U.S. in a massive way, from the moment Kennedy's died to his funeral there were live transmissions that reached all states in the US and even commercial were suspended. This brought the tragedy in all or almost all homes of Americans who watched in television the parade that took Kennedy's casket through Washing street and even those who had no access to television at home gathered around TV shops, which make all the nation mourn of President Kennedy's death. This implies, media (television mainly) brought the tragic events into people's home as people in all states could live the events related to Kennedy's death, which means media had a great impact in this.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 contained provisions barring discrimination and segregation in education, public facilities, jobs, and housing

The civil rights movement that happened during the 1960s was simply a struggle for social justice to enable black people in the US gain equal rights under the United States of America laws.

The movements led to the enactment of Civil Rights Act in June 1964. President John F. Kennedy was the sitting president at that time who sent the bill to the congress a year earlier. The Southern segregationist senators stalled the process and when president Kennedy was killed, Lyndon Baines took over and and ensured the bill was passed.

The act contained certain provisions that prohibits discrimination and segregation in education, public facilities, jobs, and housing. It made for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission creation which ensured fair hiring practices.
