Practically, if the nominator has a common factor with the denominator of the other fraction is can cancel out. For example. If u have the fractions 3/4 and 8/9, 3 and 9 have a common factor which is 3. So 3 goes into 9 3 times and 3 goes into 3, 1 time so the three becomes a 1 and the 9 becomes a 3. Same with the 4 and 8. They have a common factor of 4 (it can also be 2) 4 goes into4 one time (think of is a division), 4 divided by 4 is 1, 8 divided by 4 is two. So 4 goes into 8 2 times. So now it’d be easier to multiply. So it’d be 1/1 x 2/3 so now u just multiply across which would just equal 2/3.

When adding or subtracting fractions, the process is different depending on whether the denominators are the same or different. However, when multiplying or even dividing fractions, this is no longer a concern. Instead, you multiply the two numbers in the numerators and multiply the two numbers in the denominators. To save work later, always remember to check if you can cross-cancel

The formula for the area of a circle is A = πr2, where A = area and r = radius.
BaLLatris [955]

The area of a circle with radius of 5 feet is 25π square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a circle is found out using the formula

A = \pi r^2

Here A is the area

r is the radius of the circle and

pi is a constant

given

Radius = r = 5

We have to find the area in terms of pi

So,

A = \pi r^2\\Putting\ r=5\\A = \pi *(5)^2\\A = 25\pi\ square\ feet

Hence,

The area of a circle with radius of 5 feet is 25π square feet

What was the average speed if I drove 60 miles per hour to get to my grandmas house and 30 miles per hour to get home. Represent
siniylev [52]

Answer:

40 mph.

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose grandma's house is 30 miles away (any distance would do but 30 is convenient).

Speed = distance / time

time = distance / speed

Time to get there = 30/60 = 1/2 hour.

Time to get back = 30/30 = 1 hour

Average speed = total distance/ total time

= (30 + 30) / ( 1 + 1/2)

= 60 / 1.5

= 40 miles per hour.

You cannot take the average of the speeds directly

(60+ 30)/2 = 45 is not correct as you cannot average ratios ( speed is a ratio).

How do you calculate the volume of a cone when given the height and diameter describe the steps used to solve
SpyIntel [72]
The photo is an example.
Divide the diameter by 2 to get the radius.
Then times 1/3 time Pi times the radius squared times the height.
The formula is V=1/3(Pi)(radius squared)(height)

Judy uses 9.7 pints of blue paint and white paint to paint her bedroom walls.3/5
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

3.88 Pints

Step-by-step explanation:

First we need to find the amount of blue paint that was used. We can do that by multiplying 9.7 by 0.60 since that is 3/5 in decimal form

9.7*0.60=5.82

Now we know how much blue paint was used, now we just need to find how much white paint was used. We can do that by subtracting our amount of blue paint from the total amount of paint used

9.7-5.82=3.88

thus, 3.88 is the amount of white paint used
