The height is 51 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that triangle FGH is a equilateral triangle then you know all its sides are equal.

The length of each side is given as 34√3 units.

A perpendicular bisector will divide HF into two equal parts. This means;

34\sqrt{3} /2 =17\sqrt{3}

Find the height by applying the pythagorean relationship where sum of the two sides of the triangle equals the square of the hypotenuse.

a²+b²=c² where a=17√3  , b=height and c=34√3

b²=c²-a²

b²= (34√3)²-(17√3)²

b²=(34²*3)-(17²*3)

b²=3468-867

b²=2601

b=√2601

b=51 units

A shoe company wants to test an updated model of a running shoe on its wear after one month of running. They recruit 50 people w
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

B: Each runner varies with respect to multiple variables. Each runner should use both models to account for their individual differences. This will provide an accurate comparison for the difference in wear between the models.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the shoe company wants to test the wear of the shoes after two months, it means that option B will be the most accurate.

This because everybody has peculiarities in the bodies and also running patterns. These could have an effect on either of their legs. Thus, having to wear a new one on one leg and the original one on another leg for a month and then replacing with the second leg of both for the other month would be the best way to know the true effect of wear on the shoes because they have both been subject to same conditions within exactly the same timeframe.

One number is 6 times a first number. A third number is 100 more than the first number. If the sum of the three numbers is 812,
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

  • first number = 89
  • second number = 534
  • third number  = 189

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x

Given second number is 6 times a first number.

If first number is x then second number is 6*x = 6x

Given third number is 100 more than  the first number

If first number is x then third number is x+100 = x+100

Sum of these three numbers in terms of x

is

sum = x+ 6x+x+100 = 8x+100 __________1

Given, that sum of these numbers is 812.

equating 812 with equation 1 we have,

8x+100  = 812

=> 8x = 812- 100

=> 8x = 712

=> x = 712/8 =  89.

Therefore,

first number = x = 89

second number = 6x = 89*6= 534

third number = x+100 = 89+100 = 189
