I totally agree with the notion that laws are too difficult or expensive to enforce.
For example, when you're in defending position for a lawsuit, each counter claims that you made in order to defend your position could cost you between $12,000 - $100,000. If the case is involving patent, the cost could go up to millions.
So in some cases, it is faster and cheaper to admit defeat and make settlement rather than having to pay the legal cost.
Direct evidence tends to be more compelling evidence of exactly what students have and have not learned. Indirect evidence tends to be composed of proxy signs that students are probably learning.
As the information society becomes more of our reality I think that our lives will become faster and filled with more conflict and strain. With the faster flow of information demands and needs grow so we as people will have to adapt to that.
