I don’t have time to write the entire thing but I can help get you started. Della interacted with different people in order to make money to help buy a present for Jim. This helped develop the plot by showing us how desperate Della was to get this gift for Jim. Then she interacts with Madame Sofronie, which develops the plot even more by giving us the story’s second conflict: Della’s hair.

Also when she took part in a piano playing competition where she played the piano her heart out, she won the third prize. That is also an accomplishment for her because she could not play her mother's piano because of the guilt that she had and she felt like crippled. But when she played, she won the third prize and was very happy.
