Jane Bender went to a local branch to make a deposit. While at the teller window, she noticed a sign advertising personal loans.

''I see you are advertising loans. I have never been approved for a loan before,'' she shared with the teller. ''I have been banking here for almost a year. Do you think this bank would approve my loan application?'' The teller replied, ''I have heard that this bank does not like to make loans to women. If I were you, I would not bother applying; you will just be turned down.'' The teller handed Jane her receipt and continued, ''Is there anything else I can help you with today?''
