When someone has "slipped a disc" of their vertebral column, which type of joint have they disrupted?.
stepan [7]

When someone has "slipped a disc" of their vertebral column, that means they disrupted facet joint.

When soft cushion of tissue between the bones in your spine pushes out is called slipped disc . It's more painful when it presses on nerves. It gets better with rest, gentle exercise and painkillers. This happens with age or with certain motions . A disc may also slip out of place while you are twisting or turning to lift any object.

The joints in the spine are commonly called facet Joints or Zygapophyseal or Apophyseal Joints. Each vertebra has two sets of facet joints where one pair faces upward and other one downward.

Each vertebra has four posterior joint surfaces that connect it to the other vertebrae.  Each vertebra connects with the discs above and below and also many vertebra have joints that connect spine to ribs, sacrum, skull and other structures.
