Following WWII, the United States and the Soviet Union were the two most powerful nations in the world. WWI devastated Europe with many lives being lost as well as destruction to the landscape. WWII was even more destructive, both economically and politically exhausting great nations like France, UK, and Germany. Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill met at the Yalta Conference in 1945 to discuss the situation of postwar Europe. This later lead to a separation of Eastern Europe, (which went into Soviet hands) and Western Europe which America financially aided and sent supplies to to help rebuild.
I'm pretty sure they are just known as the common law
The argument of missile defense in the nation of Cuba is a non-starter because the USA will never willingly allow a nation that is so close to its territory, and is an ally of its arch enemy, Russia, to have such a defensive system installed, because it will also mean that Russia may use Cuba as its military base and threaten the USA territory at any moment, from close proximity, and also they will have a protection by any attack as a response.
Democrats were mostly Southern farmers and laborers. Those that moved to the west or labored in the west found it harder to get jobs because of Chinese laborers who would work for a lower wage. The North were more industrialized so they didn’t have to worry as much about losing their jobs to Chinese laborers. Also, during this time, Southern Democrats were still more openly racist than Northern Republicans, so pure racism may have played a role as well. The key here is to point out that the evidence was made by Democrats, so Americans passed the Exclusion Act mostly by Democratic concerns and beliefs.
