Answer:

4.17\times10^{-4}=x

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming that the expression is:

2.9\times 10^{-7}=x^2(\frac{5.4}{5.4^2})3^2

Solving for x we have:

2.9\times 10^{-7}=x^2(\frac{1}{5.4})9

2.9\times 10^{-7}=x^2(\frac{9}{5.4})

2.9\times 10^{-7}(\frac{5.4}{9})=x^2

(\frac{15.66\times 10^{-7}}{9})=x^2

1.74\times 10^{-7}=x^2 then we have two possible solutions one positive and the other one negative.

\pm\sqrt{1.74\times 10^{-7}}=x

The options are just positive then we will consider only the positive solution

\sqrt{1.74\times 10^{-7}}=x

0.000417133=x

Now using scientific notation:

4.17\times10^{-4}=x

A chip company has two manufacturing plants. Plant A produces 40% of the chips and Plant B produces 60% of the chips produced by
erik [133]

Answer:

P(A/D) = 0.5714

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call A the event that a chip is produced by Plant A, B the event that a chip is produced by Plant B and D the event that the chip is defective

So, the likelihood or probability P(A/D) that a chip came from plant A given that the chip is defective is calculated as:

P(A/D) = P(A∩D)/P(D)

Where P(D) = P(A∩D) + P(B∩D)

Then, the probability P(A∩D) that a chip is produced by plant A and it is defective is calculated as:

P(A∩D) = 0.4*0.02 = 0.008

Because, Plant A produces 40% of the chips and 2% of the chips produced by plant A are defective.

At the same way, the probability P(B∩D) that a chip is produced by plant B and it is defective is calculated as:

P(B∩D) = 0.6*0.01 = 0.006

So, P(D) and P(A/D) are equal to:

P(D) = 0.008 + 0.006 = 0.014

P(A/D) = 0.008/0.014 = 0.5714

it means that if a randomly chosen chip produced by the company is defective, the likelihood that the chip came from plant A is 0.5714

Consider the linear system of equations. y = –x + 9 y = 0.5x – 6 If the solution is (a,–1), what is a? a =
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

a = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

From the solution given, x = a and y = -1

Substitute for x and y in either of the equations

y = -x + 9

-1 = -a + 9

a = 9 + 1 = 10

The arithmetic sequence a_ia i a, start subscript, i, end subscript is defined by the formula: a_1 = 15a 1 =15a, start subsc
daser333 [38]

Answer:

-1,512,390

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

a1 = 15

a_i = a_{i-1} -7

Let us generate the first three terms of the sequence

a_2 = a_{2-1}-7\\a_2 = a_1 - 7\\a_2 = 15-7\\a_2 = 8

For a_3

a_3 = a_{3-1}-7\\a_3 = a_2 - 7\\a_3 = 8-7\\a_3 = 1

Hence the first three terms ae 15, 8, 1...

This sequence forms an arithmetic progression with;

first term a = 15

common difference d = 8 - 15 = - -8 = -7

n is the number of terms = 660 (since we are looking for the sum of the first 660 terms)

Using the formula;

S_n = \frac{n}{2}[2a + (n-1)d]\\

Substitute the given values;

S_{660} = \frac{660}{2}[2(15) + (660-1)(-7)]\\S_{660} = 330[30 + (659)(-7)]\\S_{660} = 330[30 -4613]\\S_{660} = 330[-4583]\\S_{660} = -1,512,390

Hence the sum of the first 660 terms of the sequence is  -1,512,390

Not much work is required to solve this I believe.... B) c= 40+170m because..... Well the fee to hook is already 40.. and you're trying to figure out the miles it was towed... the price per mile is $1.70... So you would have to multiply the money per mile and miles (m) hope this help (idk if I'm making any sense or if this is right let's hope lolll :)
