So the function is f(x)=2x+1
For the inverse function just replace f(x) with y and solve for x. 
y=2x+1
y-1=2x
x=y/2 -1/2
Now to get the same labels replace x with f(x) and y with x to get
f(x)=x/2 - 1/2
