The possible products of meiosis in plant and animal life cycles are Spores and gametes (sperm and eggs). Meiosis is a type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cells by half and produces four gametes cell. This process is required to produce egg and sperm for sexual reproduction. In plants meiosis occurs in the anthers to form pollen grains and within the ovary  to form ovules. spores are usually haploid and unicellular and are produced by meiosis in the sporangium of a diploid sporophyte.
