(2/3x) = 7/84

We need to get x alone. In order to do that we need to remove the fraction. To remove fractions we need to multiply by the fraction, but FLIP the fraction... like this:

(3/2)(2/3x) = (7/84)(3/2)

The fractions on the left cross out, because it would look like this: (3*2)/(3*2)... which is the same as 1.

So we are left with this:
x = (7/84)(3/2)

When you are multiplying fractions multiply across. Meaning you multiply the numerators together. Then you multiply the numerators together. (Remember the top is the numerator, the bottom is the denominator)

So it looks like this:

x = ((7*3)/(84*2))
x = (21/168)

We need to simplify the fraction. The two numbers that might work is 3, or 7.

21 / 3 = 7
21 / 7 = 3
168 / 3 = 56
168 / 7 = 24

Our new simplified fraction looks like this:
3 / 24

Divide both sides by 3.
