In humans, the trait for tongue rolling is dominant over the trait for the inability of a human to roll his/her tongue. If a het

Answer: 50% of offspring can roll their tongues

Explanation:

Since tongue rolling is a dominant trait, if the father is heterozygous for it, his genotypes could be Tt, since he has a the dominant allele for tongue rolling, this means he can roll his tongue

Since the mother is homozygous recessive, this means she cannot roll her tongue, her genotype is tt

If you do a punnet square and you cross the mom and dad, the offspring will have the following genotypes:

Tt, tt, Tt, tt

50% of the offspring will be heterozygous for tongue rolling, which means they will be able to roll their tongues as they have the dominant allele.

While the other 50% will not have the tongue rolling trait because they will be homozygous recessive and not have the dominant allele

50% will be heterozygous dominant, 50% will be homozygous recessive. This was according to a traditional Punnett square.

What cell feature is used by scientists to classify an unknown cell as prokaryotic or eukaryotic?
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

Like a prokaryotic cell, a eukaryotic cell has a plasma membrane, cytoplasm, and ribosomes, but a eukaryotic cell is typically larger than a prokaryotic cell, has a true nucleus (meaning its DNA is surrounded by a membrane), and has other membrane-bound organelles that allow for compartmentalization of functions.

Antidepressant medication tends to increase the concentration of "_____" in the brain.
lbvjy [14]

Antidepressant medication tends to increase the concentration of central serotonin in the brain.

Antidepressants medications are drugs that are used to relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety disorders and other conditions. The concentration of central serotonin (a neurochemical) in the brain is increased to a dangerous level when antidepressant medications such as serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) is used together with another antidepressant that also influences serotonin levels in the brain.

The epiglottis is pushed downward and the larynx is lifted up to meet it when we swallow. True False
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

The correct answer is true.

Explanation:

Swallowing of food is the process of passing the food from the mouth to the stomach through the way of the throat (pharynx) and esophagus. This process takes place in three stages:  oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal stages

During the pharyngeal stage, epiglottis which is a leaf-shaped flap of cartilage located at top of the larynx (a muscular organ forming voice box) perform functions in response to the swallowed food as the larynx lift up or rises inside the neck to close the epiglottis while the epiglottis moves downward to cover it, providing more airway protection.

Thus, true is the correct answer.
