I think Jon burned 4,620 calories. The reason to that is because if he burned 330 calories per hour, then you would multiply that by 3.5 and get 1,155. But he did that for 4 days so we would multiply again by 4 and get 4,620 calories.

A classmate states that if the radius of a circle is doubled, then its area is doubled. Do you agree or disagree? If you disagre
tresset_1 [31]
I did agree because if the radius is doubled the area will be quadrupled and the circumference would also then be doubled.

List domain and Range in interval notation, then decide if it is a function or not.
oksano4ka [1.4K]
Domain are for x-values so [0,3] and range are y-values so [2,-2]. It is not a function because there are multiple x-values for y-values. The only thing I am not sure about is whether to use brackets [ ] and/or parentheses ( ) because the graph does not use circles. Hope this helped!

Solve each equation by completing the square p^2-3p=8
yulyashka [42]

Step-by-step explanation:

p^2-3p(3/2)^2=8+(3/2)^2

p^2-(3/2)^2=8+9/4

√(p-3÷2)^2=√(8+9÷4) take LCM and cancel out the square and square root

p-3÷2=√(32+9÷4)

p=(3+_√41÷2)

Using the quadratic formula to solve x2 = 5 - X, what are the values of X?
sdas [7]

Answer:

The answer is

<h3>x =  \frac{ - 1 +  \sqrt{21} }{2}  \:  \:  \: or \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{ - 1 -  \sqrt{21} }{2}</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

x² + x - 5 = 0

Using the quadratic formula

That's

<h3>x =  \frac{  - b\pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}</h3>

From the question

a = 1 , b = 1 , c = - 5

Substitute the values into the above formula and solve

We have

<h3>x =  \frac{ - 1\pm \sqrt{ {1}^{2} - 4(1)( - 5) } }{2(1)}  \\ x =  \frac{ - 1\pm \sqrt{1  + 20 } }{2}  \\ x =   \frac{ - 1\pm \sqrt{21} }{2}</h3>

We have the final answer as

<h3>x =  \frac{ - 1 +  \sqrt{21} }{2}  \:  \:  \: or \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{ - 1 -  \sqrt{21} }{2}</h3>

Hope this helps you
