MAGMA TYPE determines a volcanoes eruption style

Explanation:

Magma with high silica content is viscous hence does not allow its gases, such as sulfur dioxide, to easily escape. The gasses pent up pressure in the magma that releases violently at the surface of the earth.

Magma with low silica content has its gases easily escape from the magma. The magma doe not, therefore, hold much pressure when it reaches the surface of the earth. This is the type of magma that flows from the vent to the surrounding.
