The least possible number of coins Pirate Jack has, is 81 coins.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

When the coins are divided into 7 equal piles, 4 coins are left.

When the coins are divided into 11 equal piles, 4 coins are left.

We will take LCM of both 7 and 11.

7 = 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70, 77, ....

11 = 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, ...

The least common multiple of 7 and 11 is 77.

As 4 coins are left, therefore, we will add those coins.

Total possible coins = 77+4 = 81

The least possible number of coins Pirate Jack has, is 81 coins.

Suppose y varies directly as x, and Y=80 when x=16 . Which of the following statements is true?
liubo4ka [24]
The following answer is B because it shows that it has to multiply the x - axis by the slope (5) to make sure that it can be equat to the y - axis.

y = 5x
y =5(16)
y = 80

(x, y) = (16, 80)

Activity paper to answer
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

1.

a) 5cm

b) 16cm

c) 25cm

d) 124cm

2.

a) 4m

b) 6m

c) 10m

d) 26m

3.

a) 2km

b) 4km

c) 11km

d) 28km

Step-by-step explanation:

When you have a number and it tells you to round it to the nearest cm (m, km etc.), it means you just have to make it a whole number (integer) instead of a decimal by rounding it up or down.

To tell whether you round up or down, you look at the number after the decimal place and if it is under 5, you round down but if it is 5-9 you round up.

For example,

If we had 20.3 (not one of the questions) you would round it down to 20 because the 3 after the decimal place is smaller than 5.

However, if we had 24.7 you would have to round it up because the 7 is from 5-9.

Hope this helps :)
