For this case we must find an expression equivalent to:

4,325,000,000

To express in scientific notation we must take into account that the power will be positive, that is, the decimal is run to the right.

We test each option.

Option A:

4,325 * 10^{-9}

If we run the decimal 9 spaces to the left we have:

0.000000004325

Option B:

We discard it because the exponent is negative.

Option C:

4,325 * 10 ^ 6

We run the decimal 6 spaces to the right

4,325,000

Option D:

4,325 * 10 ^ 9

We run the decimal 9 spaces to the right

4,325,000,000

Answer:

Option D

the sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 2:5. if the longer side of the rectangle is 25.5 in., what are it's width, perimeter,
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer: The width of the rectangle is 10.2 inches, the perimeter is 71.4 inches,  the area is 260.1 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

25.5/5=5.1

5.1*2=10.2

The width is 10.2 inches

25.5*2+10.2*2=71.4

The perimeter is 71.4 inches

20.5*10.2=260.1

The area is 260.1

Hi, having trouble understanding this question.. as well as solving it.
kramer

-- You have two angles.

-- They're complementary . . . they add up to 90 degrees.

-- One is 4 times as big as the other one.
___________________________________________

-- The smaller angle has 1 share of the 90 degrees.

-- The bigger angle has 4 shares of the 90 degrees.

-- (The smaller one is 1/4 the size of the bigger one.
The bigger one is 4 times the size of the smaller one.)

-- When you add them together, you get 5 shares, totaling 90 degrees.

-- What's the size of each share ?  It's 90/5 = 18 degrees.

-- The smaller angle gets one share . . . 18 degrees.

-- The bigger angle gets 4 shares.   (4 x 18) = 72 degrees.
____________________________________

Check:

-- Is the small one 1/4 the size of the big one ?    18/72 = 1/4  Yes.

-- Are they complementary ?  Do they add up to 90 degrees ?

                                                                       18 + 72  =  90  Yes.

                                                                                 yay !
