24 students and teachers rode to the zoo  in vans and 385 students and teachers rode to the zoo in buses.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Total number of students and teachers = 409

Students and teachers in each bus = 55

Students and teachers in each van = 12

Let,

x be the number of buses

y be the number of vans

55x+12y=409       Eqn 1

x = y+5                  Eqn 2

Putting value of x from Eqn 2 in Eqn 1

55(y+5)+12y=409\\55y+275+12y=409\\67y=409-275\\67y=134

Dividing both sides by 67

\frac{67y}{67}=\frac{134}{67}\\y=2

Putting y=2 in Eqn 2

x=2+5\\x=7

Number of students and teachers who rode in vans = Number of vans * Teachers and student in each van

Number of students and teachers who rode in vans = 12*2 = 24

Number of students and teachers who rode in buses = 7*55 = 385

24 students and teachers rode to the zoo  in vans and 385 students and teachers rode to the zoo in buses.

IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

Her error was that the half should have been multiplied by m, instead

50 + \frac{1}{2}m = 120

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Base\ Amount = 50

Rate = 0.05

Days = n

So, we have:

Base\ Amount + Rate * days = 120

50 + \frac{1}{2}m = 120

Hence, the error in her workings is that she should have pre-inform her before God and man.

When angles are complementary, the sum of their measures is 90 degrees.Two complementary angles have measures of 2x-10 degrees a
Mariana [72]

Complementary angles are those angles whose sum is 90 degree.

The measurement of two complementary angles are

(2x-10), (3x-10)

There sum have to be 90 degree. That is

2x-10+3x-10 = 90

Combining like terms ,

5x - 20 = 90

Moving 20 to right side

5x=110

Dividing both sides by 5

x =22

So the measurement of the angles are

2*22-10 , 3*22-10  \\
34 degree,  56 degree

If point U is reflected across the x = -3, what are the coordinates of its reflection image?
Elena L [17]

The coordinates of U after the reflection are: (-5, -3)

<h3>How to get the coordinates after the reflection?</h3>

By looking at the graph, we can see that the coordinates of point U are:

U = (-1, -3)

And we want to reflect it across the line x = -3.

Notice that because this is a vertical line, the y-component does not change by the reflection. Only changes the x-component, such that the distance between the original coordinates and the final coordinates to the line don't change.

The original x-component is x = -1, the distance to the line is:

d = |-3 - (-1)| = 2 units.

Then the new x-component will also be at 2 units of the line, but in the other direction:

new x-component: x = -3 - 2 = -5

The coordinates of U after the reflection are:

(-5, -3)

The lateral area of a cone is 555 \pi cm^2 and the radius is 15.1 what is the slant height?
pishuonlain [190]
We know that
[LA]=pi*r*l
where
LA is the lateral area of the cone
r is the radius
l is the slant height
l=LA/(pi*r)
r=15.1 cm
LA=555*pi cm²
l=(555*pi)/(pi*15.1)----> l=36.75 cm

the answer is
the slant height is 36.75 cm
