Answer:  0.0164

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The standards for glass thickness call for the glass to average \mu=\text{ 0.375 inches} with a standard deviation 0\sigma=\text{ 0.050 inch}.

H_0:\mu=0.375\\\\H_a:\mu\neq0.375

Since the alternative hypothesis is two-tailed , so the test is two-tailed test.

Sample size : n=50 , a large sample ( n>30) so we use z-test.

Sample mean :-\overline{x}=0.392

We assume its a normal distribution.

z=\dfrac{\overline{x}-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

z=\dfrac{0.392-0.375}{\dfrac{0.050}{\sqrt{50}}}\approx2.40

By using standard normal distribution table , the p-value =

0.0163951\approx0.0164

Thus, the probability if the windows meet the standards = 0.0164

Lisa's shop sells 5 quarts of ice cream each day. How much is this in pints?
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Answer:

10

Step-by-step explanation:

We know there are 5 quarts.

There are 2 pints for each quart.

This can be though of as a ratio of:

2 : 1

There are 5 quarts, which is 5 times bigger than the ratio of 1.

So this means we need to mutliply both sides of the ratio by 5, to make the quarts equivelent to 5:

2*5 : 1*5

=

10 : 5

So for every 5 quarts there are 10 pints.

Hope this helps!

Mr. Cahn’s total earnings in a year is $18,900.

<h3>What is the total earnings?</h3>

The total earnings is a function of the annual salary, commission and Christmas bonus.

Total earnings = annual salary + commission + Christmas bonus

Commission = 6% x (160,000 - 20,000)

6% x $140,000

0.06 x 140,000 =  $8,400

Total earnings =  $8,400 + 10,000 + $500 = $18,900
