The EU means the European Union, correct?
Some of the causes for the formation of the EU was a struggle for a peace on the continent: in a Union, attacking another country would be a blow to one's own economy. If the European nations were more united then there would be a smaller chance for another war in Europe: and this thinking has proven to be correct.
Another reason is a stronger economy for all the nations involved.

The second movement of Haydn's 100th symphony combines the concept of variation with the ternary structure (A-B-A'). Haydn included the triangle, cymbals and bass drum in his military symphonies because he had heard these instruments in the Austrian countryside.
The symphony, originally titled Grand Overture with Military Movement, was first performed on 31 March 1794 in the Hanover Square Room for an audience of 800 people.
