The self-evident truths in the second paragraph deal with natural rights. This includes that all men are created equal and have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Mazzei drew up a plan to capture the British in New York by cutting off their sea escape, and convinced France to help the American colonists financially and militarily in their struggle against British rule. Answer: He claimed that if the United Kingdom had joined France in stopping Hitler instead of appeasing Germany, the results would have been different.

Explanation: He meant that Hitler was being appeased by the Prime Minister of Britain and by France because they allowed Hitler to break the treaty of Versailles and take Austria, the Suderland, Czechoslovakia and, eventually, some of Poland.
