Since, it is given that \Delta RST \sim \Delta RYX by SSS similarity theorem.

We have to identify the ratio which is equal to \frac{RT}{RX} and \frac{RS}{RY}.

When the triangles are similar, then the ratio of the corresponding sides are always equal and the congruent angles are also equal.

Since,  \Delta RST \sim \Delta RYX

So, \frac{RT}{RX} = \frac{RS}{RY} = \frac{ST}{YX}

So, the given ratios are equal to the ratio \frac{ST}{YX}.

So, Option D is the correct answer.

The triangle STX is similar to triangle YXR by the SSS similarity theorem. Option (A) is correct.

Further Explanation:

The similar triangles are those in which all the corresponding angles are equal and the sides are proportional.

There are many similarity rules and are as follows.

1. Angle Angle Angle (AAA)

2. Side Side Side (SSS)

3. Side Angle Side (SAS)

Given:

The options are as follows.

(A). \frac{{{\text{XY}}}}{{{\text{TS}}}}

(B). \frac{{{\text{SY}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}

(C). \frac{{{\text{RX}}}}{{{\text{XT}}}}

(D). \frac{{{\text{ST}}}}{{{\text{YX}}}}

Explanation:

The STX is similar to triangle YXR then the sides are proportional.

The proportional of corresponding side can be obtained as follows,

\frac{{{\text{RT}}}}{{{\text{RX}}}}=\frac{{{\text{RS}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}=\frac{{{\text{XY}}}}{{{\text{TS}}}}.

The corresponding sides are proportional. Therefore the triangles are similar.

The triangle STX is similar to triangle YXR by the SSS similarity theorem. Option (A) is correct.

Option (A) is correct as the ratio \frac{{{\text{XY}}}}{{{\text{TS}}}} is equal to \frac{{{\text{RT}}}}{{{\text{RX}}}} and \frac{{{\text{RS}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}.

Option (b) is not correct as the ratio \frac{{{\text{SY}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}} is not equal to \frac{{{\text{RT}}}}{{{\text{RX}}}} and \frac{{{\text{RS}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}.

Option (c) is not correct as the ratio \frac{{{\text{RX}}}}{{{\text{XT}}}} is not equal to \frac{{{\text{RT}}}}{{{\text{RX}}}} and \frac{{{\text{RS}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}.

Option (d) is not correct as the ratio \frac{{{\text{ST}}}}{{{\text{YX}}}} is not equal to \frac{{{\text{RT}}}}{{{\text{RX}}}} and \frac{{{\text{RS}}}}{{{\text{RY}}}}.

Answer: The Answer is

48 over 48+36

Step-by-step explanation:

Let me draw this triangle for you as you haven't drawn the triangle.

To find the side SR , you have shown that

ΔPST ~(is similar to)ΔPRQ [AA]

As, you know when triangles are similar their sides are proportional.

So,

You can solve this question using other way also

As, ST║RQ

A sample of computer tablet batteries has a mean battery life of 28 months and standard deviation of 4 months. What is the lifes
Ulleksa [173]

Using the Empirical Rule, it is found that the lifespans, in months, are given by:

1. 24 and 32.

2. 20 and 36.

3. 16 and 40.

<h3>What is the Empirical Rule?</h3>

It states that, for a normally distributed random variable:

  • Approximately 68% of the measures are within 1 standard deviation of the mean.
  • Approximately 95% of the measures are within 2 standard deviations of  the mean.
  • Approximately 99.7% of the measures are within 3 standard deviations of the mean.

Hence, considering the mean of 28 months and the standard deviation of 4 months, the life spans are given by:

1. 24 and 32.

2. 20 and 36.

3. 16 and 40.

A chip company has two manufacturing plants. Plant A produces 40% of the chips and Plant B produces 60% of the chips produced by
erik [133]

Answer:

P(A/D) = 0.5714

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call A the event that a chip is produced by Plant A, B the event that a chip is produced by Plant B and D the event that the chip is defective

So, the likelihood or probability P(A/D) that a chip came from plant A given that the chip is defective is calculated as:

P(A/D) = P(A∩D)/P(D)

Where P(D) = P(A∩D) + P(B∩D)

Then, the probability P(A∩D) that a chip is produced by plant A and it is defective is calculated as:

P(A∩D) = 0.4*0.02 = 0.008

Because, Plant A produces 40% of the chips and 2% of the chips produced by plant A are defective.

At the same way, the probability P(B∩D) that a chip is produced by plant B and it is defective is calculated as:

P(B∩D) = 0.6*0.01 = 0.006

So, P(D) and P(A/D) are equal to:

P(D) = 0.008 + 0.006 = 0.014

P(A/D) = 0.008/0.014 = 0.5714

it means that if a randomly chosen chip produced by the company is defective, the likelihood that the chip came from plant A is 0.5714

Answer:

(8, 8200)

Step-by-step explanation:

It looks like you got it right, the point (8, 8200) is that of a collectors item car, that has not changed much its original price of about £10,000 (at year zero), having a value of £8,200  8 years later.
