Median means you have to take the middle of the set of data

Step 1: Put the numbers in order from smallest to largest

12  15  15  15  17  17  18  20  21

Step 2: To find the exact middle each "level" take away the 1st and last number <<<Does that make sense?

12  15  15  15  17  17  18  20 21

     15  15  15  17  17  18  20

          15  15  17  17  18

                15 17  17

                      17

The median is 17

Hope this helped!

Using the Empirical Rule, it is found that:
AveGali [126]

Considering that the mean of the normal distribution is the same as the median, the median is of 88%.

What does the Empirical Rule state?

It states that, for a normally distributed random variable:

  • Approximately 68% of the measures are within 1 standard deviation of the mean.
  • Approximately 95% of the measures are within 2 standard deviations of the mean.
  • Approximately 99.7% of the measures are within 3 standard deviations of the mean.

For the normal distribution, the median is the same of the mean, that is, the median is of 88%.

What is the vertex of y=-6(2.5-x)(x-5.5)?
Alex787 [66]
Hello :

y=-6(2.5-x)(x-5.5) = -6(2.5x -13.75 -x² +5.5x)
y = -6(-x²+8x -13.75)
y = 6x²-48x+82.5
note :
if f(x) = ax²+bx +c   the vertex is the point : ( -b/2a ; f(-b/2a))
a=6  b=-48 c = 82.5 .......calculate
-b/2a = -(-48)/2(6)= 4
f(4) =6(4)²-48(4)+82.5 =96 - 192 +82.5 = -13.5
