Seniors at a local high school took both the AP Statistics exam and the AP Literature exam. On the Statistics test, the mean sco

re was 2.4 with a standard deviation of 0.6. On the Literature test, the mean score was 2.65 with a standard deviation of 0.55. If we wanted to look at the combined scores (and assumed the tests were independent), what would their mean and standard deviation be?
5.05, 0.66
5.05, 1.15
5.05, 1.07
5.05, 0.82
5.05, 0.42

The answer is 5.05 and 0.82

As standard deviation is the square root of variance, so we take the square root of variance to get the new standard deviation.

Sum of means = 2.45+2.65 = 5.05
Combined mean = 5.05/2 = 2.525
variance = 0.36+0.3025 = 0.6625

combined standard deviation = square root (0.6625) = 0.814 ~ .82

Answer this question
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

c. 40°

Step-by-step explanation:

The information given has been illustrated in the figure drawn in the attachment below.

m<BAD = 50° (angle bisector theorem)

m<ADB = 90° (perpendicular bisector)

m<ABD = 180 - (m<BAD + m<ADB) (sum of angles in a triangle)

m<ABD = 180° - (90° + 50°)

= 180° - 140°

= 40°

B = 40°

The height of a cylinder is twice the radius of its base. A cylinder has a height of 2 x and a radius of x. What expression repr
mrs_skeptik [129]

Given:

Let x represents the radius of the cylinder.

Given that the height of the cylinder is twice the radius of its base.

The height of the cylinder is 2x.

We need to determine the volume of the cylinder.

Volume of the cylinder:

The volume of the cylinder can be determined using the formula,

V=\pi r^2h

Substituting r = x and h = 2x, we get;

V=\pi (x)^2(2x)

Simplifying, we get;

V=\pi x^2(2x)

V=2\pi x^3

Thus, the expression that represents the volume of the cylinder is 2πx³ cubic units.

Hence, Option b is the correct answer.
