Sample response: The Big Three had conflicting goals. Wilson was an idealist, and he believed his Fourteen Points was the best course of action. France and Britain believed he was too naive. France had suffered the most - both in loss of life and property damage - and it wanted Germany to pay and to be weak. Britain wanted a more moderate settlement but also wanted Germany's colonies.

During the peace conference U.S. President Woodrow Wilson prioritized his 14 Points as a framework for the peace plan.  He had to concede with the other people for the sake of peace.  British Priminister Lloyd George wanted to ensure France’s security but he did not want severe sanctions against Germany. French leader George Clemenceau on the other hand wanted to ensure that Germany won’t invade them again.  He also wanted heavy penalties on Germany.
