1. The group nearest the end or with the shortest stem of a phylogenetic tree has evolved most recently. In this case it is eutherians.

2. The group with the longest stem has been around the longest: fish

3. A direct common ancestor will share the same immediate line, like marsupials and eutherians. Fish and marsupials do not have a common direct ancestor.

Answer:

Please see below in bold type.

Explanation:

1. You can see on the far left the time scale in million years ago (mya). So the further up the division in the phylogenetic tree, the closer to the present time it branched off. Having said this, the branching that appears further up in the tree is that of Eutherians, so we conclude this is the group that evolved most recently.

2. Acording to this logic, the group that has been around the longest must the one that branched off first (or farther down) from the phylogenetic tree. This is the group of the fish.

3. In every branching of the tree there was a common ancestor to the groups above. Consequently, we can see in the tree that marsupials and fish don't have a direct common ancestor, because Birds and Monotremes branched off first before Marsupials appeared. Marsupials did share a direct common ancestor with Eutherians.

Which is the energy biomolecule for all living things?
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

Carbohydrates

Explanation:

Carbohydrates are made up of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen make up carbohydrates. These biomolecules are the primary sources of energy of living things, including humans. They are found in living organisms in the form of sugars, fibers, and starches. There are different types of carbohydrates like monosaccharides, disaccharades, and polysaccharide.

Question 1:

Answer:

The "first line of defence" in innate immunity is "Physical and chemical barriers".

Explanation

"Physical and chemical barriers" is first line of defence includes that are ready to defend the living organism's body from infection at any time . These barriers include your skin, cilia, tears, urine flow, mucus, stomach acid, friendly bacteria and white blood cells . Skin acts as a mechanical barrier as it does not allows all the organism to pass through it unless the skin is cut or open. Similarly mouth eyes, and nose are also the ways through with the disease causing organism can enter the body. The micro-organisms that entered through these pathways are trapped either in saliva or mucus and swallowed and later either killed in the stomach or flushed out via the urine. If this first line of defence is broken or damaged, the second line of defence inside our body will be activated.

Question 2:

Answer:

Histamine kinins, and interleukins are examples of inflammatory mediators.

Explanation:

Inflammatory mediators are identified in inflammatory bowel disease IBD.These mediators play an vital role in the clinical and pathologic characteristics of the disorders. Cytokines, that are released by macrophages in due to antigenic stimuli, are binded different receptors and produce endocrine, autocrine and paracrine effects. Interleukins are a subset of a large group of 'cellular messenger molecules' called cytokines that modulates the cellular behaviour. Interleukins are not stored within cells like cytokines but they are released immediately, in response to a stimulus. Once an interleukin has been secreted, it moves to the target cell and binds to it through a receptor molecule on the surface of the cell . This interaction triggers a sequence of signals in the target cell that ultimately leads to the alteration in the behaviour of the cell.

Gelneren [198K]

To scientifically answer the question using scientific reasoning, explaining generally why it makes sense that the lion population is taking longer to recover than the herbivore populations is that;

The herbivore populations have enough food in the ecosystem, this food is in the form of flora, and this food they get keep their energy flowing and also has a way of ensuring their high recovery rates.

Then looking at the lion population,on the contrary, they have to depend on feeding on smaller animals this is because the larger animals reproduce at a smaller pace, and lions with a smaller prey, lions don't get enough and adequate food/nutrition for themselves and also for their pride of lions, this ascertains the fact that lion population take a longer time to recover than it's counterparts which is the herbivores.
