The Second Great Migration had a lot to do with the industrialization going on during and after World War II and the many factory jobs that were open. During World War II, tons of equipment and important war items were needed during this time, which caused many people to be working in factories and tons of new jobs to open up to the public. Even women were working in factories during this time, making more weapons, artillery, and other war goods.

This caused millions of African Americans to venture west in hopes of getting a job and helping with the war effort. After World War II, many things were still needed and factory jobs were still very popular.
