a. We know the rates of change for both companies, as well as the starting values in 2013. So, to predict the values in 2022 we have to simulate the passing of 9 years. Company A loses 0.22 billions per years, so they will lose 0.22\cdot 9 = 1.98 billions in 9 years. So, we have

A_{2022} = 4.9 - 1.98 = 2.92

Similarly, company B will have

B_{2022} = 1.64 + 0.19\cdot 9 = 3.35

billion dollars in 2022.

b. This question is similar to the previous one, except this time we have to find the number of years necessary to reach a particular goal. We have

4.9 - 0.22x = 4.24

Solving for x, we have

x = \dfrac{4.9-4.24}{0.22} = \dfrac{0.66}{0.22} = 3

c. We know the behaviour of the two values, so the number of years will again be the unkown, and we set the two values to be the same:

4.9 - 0.22x = 1.64+0.19x

Solving for x, we have

4.9-1.64 = (0.22+0.19)x \iff 3.26 = 0.41x \iff x = \dfrac{3.26}{0.41} \approx 7.9

larisa86 [58]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

How many times does 20 go into 48?

48/20=2.4

So, we multiply our amount of flour for 20 cookies by 2.4.

2.25×2.4=5.4

Therefore you would need 5.4 or 5 2/5 cups of flour to make 48 cookies.

Have a wonderful day! :D

The size of a television screen is measured by the length of thee diagonal of the screen. What size is a television screen that
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

approximately 6.708 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

We use the Pythagorean theorem to solve the problem, using 3 feet and 6 feet as the legs of a right angle triangle. The diagonal of the screen is therefore the "hypotenuse" of this right angle triangle, and can be determined via the formula:

diagonal = \sqrt{(3\,ft)^2+(6\,ft)^2} \\diagonal = \sqrt{9\,ft^2+36\,ft^2} \\diagonal = \sqrt{45} \,ft\\diagonal = 3\,\sqrt{5} \,ft

which is approximately 6.708 feet
