Hello!

Anyone who would not work, would not eat.
So they had to plant food, build shelter, and build fences for themselves.

Hope this helps,

He started a system where everyone was forced to work. If they didn't work, they would NOT eat. There is a famous quote:

“He that will not work shall not eat.”

This is what saved the people of Jamestown.
He also arranged and established trade with the native tribes. This lead to more food and shelter for the people of Jamestown, as they were being guided by the native tribes.

Hope I helped! Merry Christmas! :P

How did the women's march against apartheid end?
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Although African men had been required to carry passes for many decades, only in the 1950s did the government impose pass laws on African women. African women were not allowed to live in towns unless they had permission to be employed there, and extending pass laws to them made it more difficult for women without jobs to take their children and join their husbands in town. Across the country, dozens of protests against passing laws for African women took place before the Federation of South African Women (formed in 1955) and the African National Congress Women’s League organized a massive protest march in Pretoria.

On August 9, 1956, 20,000 women, representing all racial backgrounds, came from all over South Africa to march on the Union Buildings, where they stood in silent protest for 30 minutes while petitions with 100,000 signatures were delivered to the Prime Minister’s office. Many men in the anti-apartheid movement were surprised by the women’s militancy, and the protest contributed to women playing a bigger role in the struggle for freedom and democracy. August 9th now is celebrated as National Women’s Day in South Africa.

List ways that the United States government promoted African-American rights after the Civil War?
Leni [432]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although you did not attach options for this question we can comment on the following.

The United States government promoted African-American rights after the Civil War in the form of the creation of important legislation.

We are talking about the Civil War Amendments to the United States Constitution, which aimed to enforce equality in the American society after the Civil War and the end of slavery in the Southern states.

Specifically, we are talking about the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the US Constitution.

In the case of the 13th Amendment, this legislation prohibited slavery in the United States. The only exception was when it was part of a punishment for the commitment of a crime. The 14th Amendment gave citizenship to all African Americans. The 15th Amendment forbade any government in the US to deny people the right to participate in elections due to the color of their skin or race.

What event might a military historian use as evidence that the Americans were better
harina [27]

Answer:

The Battle of Saratoga

Explanation:

The battle of Saratoga which was fought on September 19 and October 7, 1777, in which Americans came off victorious is evidence that the Americans were better fighters than the British. In that battle, British forces led by General John Burgoyne advanced towards the American forces in New York City moving Southward, with the hope that some other forces were marching Northward and Eastward to join him in the battle.

That was not to happen as the American forces who were not as experienced as the British forces trapped the General and his military men and this eventually resulted in their surrender on October 17, 1777.
