Answer:

C) 67%

Step-by-step explanation:

Conditional probability:

P(A given B) = P(A and B) / P(B)

P(passed 2nd given passed 1st) = P(passed 2nd and 1st) / P(passed 1st)

P(passed 2nd given passed 1st) = 0.30 / 0.45

P(passed 2nd given passed 1st) = 0.67

Find the number of positive integers n is less than or equal to 1000 such that 15n is a perfect square.
boyakko [2]

Answer:

8 positive integers.

Step-by-step explanation:

One value of n would be 15 because 225 = 15^2.

Other values  are 225 * n where 15n  <= 1000 and n is a perfect square.

So n = 4 gives us 225* 4 = 900 which is a perfect square and 15*4 = 60.

n = 9  gives us 225 * 9 which is a perfect square and 15*9 = 135.

n = 16 gives us 225*16  and 15*16 = 240 , so OK.

n = 25   gives a perfect square and  and 15*25 = 375 - so OK.

n = 36 gives a perfect square and 15*36 = 540 - so OK.

n = 49 gives a perfect square and  15*49 = 735 - so OK.

n = 64 gives a perfect square and 15*64 = 960 - so ok.

n = 81 gives a perfect square and 15 * 81 = 1215  so NOT ok.

What are the equations for this question? how do you answer it?
Digiron [165]
Because we are looking at money and amount there will be 2 sepret equations that can be solved using the Elimination or Substitution method.
$4,800=x18+y33 would be the first one that is dealing with money.
200=x+y

I personally find the substitution method easier but whatever you like could work. First things first, get Y alone in ONE equation, you can choose whatever one you want but I am going to use the bottom one cause it is the easiest.

200=x+y
-x -x subtract x from both sides
200-x=y. y is now alone making it easy to switch the equation
y=200-x this equation is the value of y

Now plug in the value of y in the top equation,

4,800=x18+33(200-x) now solve this equation

4,800=x18+6600-33x
4,800=-15x+6600
-6600. -6600
-2200=-15x. divide by -15
x=146.67

now since we have the x value we can plug it in to the bottom equation.

200=146.67+y
-146.67
y=53.33

these coordinates are the intersection point so it'll give ya the number.

hope this helped a little

Find an explicit function rule for the sequence 5,11,17,23,.... Use the formula a(n) = a(n-1)d and simplify fully.
Taya2010 [7]
For this problem, we know d = 6 because (11 - 5) = (17 - 11) = (23 - 17) = 6
Now, we have to use the formula:
a_{n} =  a_{1} + (n-1)d
For this problem, d = 6 and a(base1) is 5, so plug it in like this:
a_{n} =  5 + (n - 1)(6)
To simplify, all you have to do is distribute the six and reduce like so:
a_{n} = 5 + ((6*n)-(6*1)) \\  a_{n}=5 + 6n - 6 \\ a_{n} = 6n-1

So, here's your answer:
a_{n} = 6n-1

Hope this helps!
