Answer:

In order to check if the x and y value is a solution then you need to plug in your numbers for the x and why value.

Take this as an example with your solution (4,7) let's try 4x-9=y. We want to plug in the values of each variable so the new equation will look like 4(4)-9=(7). Now you want to multiply and get 16-9=7 next subtract and you get 7=7. This would be a solution for the problem.

Now we can try 3x+14=y do the same thing from last example and you'll get 3(4)-14=7 and now multiply to get 12-14=7 now subtract and you'll get -2=7 which is NOT a solution to this equation so it would become -2≠7.

Answer:

0.000025

Step-by-step explanation:

the difference between225-180=45

so the percentage= 45×100/100

=0.45%

as the instruction say=0.45%/180

=0.0045/180

=45/1800000

=0.000025

In the equation 0.75s-5/8 = 44, how do you combine the like terms?
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In the given equation, the "like terms" are the constants 5/8 and 44.

It simplifies the math if we eliminate the fractions first.  Note that 0.75 = 6/8, so now we have:

8(6/8)s - 8(5/8) = 44).

Multiplying all three terms by 8 (above) yields

8(6s) - 8(5) = 8(44), or

48s              = 8(44 + 5), or 48s = 8(49)

Dividing both sides by 48 yields s:   s = 8(49/48)

Review "like terms:"  These are terms that have at least one characteristic in common.  5/8 and 44 are like terms because they are only constants (no variables are present).  We must add 5/8 and 44.   0.75s does not have a "like term" in the given equation.

3. A piece of white oak has a densityof 0.77 g/cm and a mass of 100 g,what would be the volume of thesample? PLEASE HELP!
Nezavi [6.7K]
\text{Volume}=129.87cm^3

Explanation

Step 1

the density of an object is given by:

\text{density}=\text{ }\frac{mass}{\text{volume}}

Step 2

let

\begin{gathered} \text{density}=0.77\frac{g}{cm^3} \\ \text{mass}=\text{ 100 g} \\  \end{gathered}

Step 3

replace,

\begin{gathered} \text{density}=\text{ }\frac{mass}{\text{volume}} \\ 0.77\frac{g}{cm^3}=\frac{100g}{\text{volume}} \\ \text{volume}\cdot0.77\frac{g}{cm^3}=\text{1}00\text{ g} \\  \\ \text{Volume}=\frac{100\text{ g}}{0.77\frac{g}{cm^3}} \\ \text{Volume}=129.87cm^3 \end{gathered}

I hope this helps you
