Which statements describe electron transport chain events? Citrate metabolism results in the formation of one FADH2 and three NA

DH. Two electrons pass between cytochromes through a series of redox reactions. ATP synthase uses the energy from the redox reactions to generate ATP. NADH releases two hydrogen ions and donates two electrons to coenzyme Q.

Answer:

NADH releases two hydrogen and donate two electrons to coenzyme Q.

Explanation:

Electron transport chain is the last part of aerobic respiration and the only components that uses molecular oxygen. It involve series of processes where electrons are transfer from electron donors to electron acceptors, this make Hydrogen ions accumulate within the matrix space. It occur in the mitondondrial matrix.

The NADH releases two hydrogen and donate two electrons to the coenzyme Q ( ubiquinone). The Q is lipid soluble and move through hydrophobic core of the membrane.

It received electrons from NADH and FADH2.

What is the difference in the amino acid sequence between sickle cells vs. normal hemoglobin mrna molecules? how does this chang
AURORKA [14]
The hemoglobin holoenzyme (active enzyme) is a complex of an iron ion and 4 subunits- 2 hemoglobin alpha and two hemoglobin beta. People with sickle cell disease have mutated beta hemoglobins. The mutation is a single nucleotide exchange, that changes the 6th amino acid of protein primary struture - a Glutamic acid into Valine. This one alteration changes the tree dimentional structure of hemoglobin beta so, that it forms lond fibres that disrupt the normal circular form of the red blood cells.

Which is not a compound?
8H2
H2O
6CaO
5HCl
poizon [28]
8H2. The actual equation doesn't make sense for 8H2. This is because in compounds it always says the number of atoms after the element symbol, but in this case, there is an 8 before it. This means that it isn't a compound.

How closely do Mendel insights into dominant and recessives traits match up with the ratios that punnett calculated in his Punne
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

Perfectly in theory, except there is chance involved

Explanation:

The Punnet square is a diagram that allows scientists to predict the possible outcomes of the offspring when the genotypes of the parents are known. This is in line with Mendel's principles, and from a theoretical point of view would match up perfectly. However, it all works based on probability.

However, inheritance is always down to chance. Of your parents 2 alleles, you always have 50:50 chance of inheriting one of the allele. Overall, this is what is predicted in punnet squares.

However, think about flipping a coin. There is always 50:50 chance of getting heads, but that doesn't mean it is impossible to flip a coin and get tails 10 x in a row. It is just less likely. So in reality, observations might deviate from the theory.
