Chloroplasts are organelles of photosynthetic cells that are specialized to capture and harness the energy from the sun and save it in chemical bonds such as in glucose. Usually, the energy of the sun captures by the reactive centers is used to split water into H⁺ and O²⁻. 2 electrons are released in the process and are passed down a conveyor of protein chain molecules harnessing the energy of the high-energy electrons. The energy is used to make ATPs by chemiosmosis.
