You drive in a straight line at 24 m/s for 8 miles, then at 30 m/s for another 8 miles. (a) How does your average speed sav comp

are with 27.0 m/s (the midpoint of 24 m/s and 30 m/s)?
1) Sav < 27.0 m/s
2) Sav = 27.0 m/s
3) Sav > 27.0 m/s.
Explain conceptually.
(b) Verify your response to part (a) by calculating the average speed of this trip exactly

Part A.) The midpoint between the two speeds is just an estimate of the exact average speed. This is not exactly 27 m/s because although they have the same distance, they differ in speed. So, the answer is more or less, but not equal to, 27 m/s.

Part B.) The average speed is the total amount of distance traveled per total time.

Convert miles to meters: 1 mile = 1,609.34 meters
8 miles* 1,609.34 m/1 mile = 12,874.72 m

Average Speed = (12,874.72 m + 12,874.72 m)/[(12,874.72 m/24 m/s)+ (12,874.72 m/30 m/s)]
Average speed = 26.67 m/s

WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

Its initial position was 471 m.

Explanation:

We have,

Final position of the object is 327 m

Displacement of the object is -144 m

It is required to find its initial position. The difference of final and initial position is equal to the displacement of the object. So,

d=\text{final position}-\text{initial position}\\\\-144=327-\text{initial position}\\\\\text{initial position}=327+144\\\\\text{initial position}=471\ m

So, its initial position was 471 m.

Elodia [21]

Answer:

a.2.5x 10^3 m/s

b.mr=48kg/s

Explanation:

A rocket is moving away from the solar system at a speed of 7.5 ✕ 103 m/s. It fires its engine, which ejects exhaust with a speed of 5.0 ✕ 103 m/s relative to the rocket. The mass of the rocket at this time is 6.0 ✕ 104 kg, and its acceleration is 4.0 m/s2. What is the velocity of the exhaust relative to the solar system? (B) At what rate was the exhaust ejected during the firing?

velocity of the exhaust relative to the solar system

velocity of the rocket -velocity of the exhaust relative to the rocket.

7.5 ✕ 103 m/s-5.0 ✕ 103 m/s

2.5x 10^3 m/s

. b  we will look for the thrust of the rocket

T=ma

T=6.0 ✕ 104 kg*4.0 m/s2

T=2.4*10^5N

f=mass rate *velocity of the exhaust

T=2.4*10^5N=mr*5.0 ✕ 10^3 m/s

mr=2.4*10^5N/5.0 ✕ 10^3

mr=48kg/s

What connects space and time in our Universe?
Bumek [7]

Answer:

Einstein had realized in 1905, that space and time, are intimately connected with each other. ... Thus one can think of space and time together, as a four-dimensional entity, called space-time. Each point of space-time is labeled by four numbers, that specify its position in space, and in time.

Which of the following is the most effective way for humans to reduce biodiversity loss?
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

Creating large preserves in biodiversity hotspots

Explanation:

  • In order to preserve the biodiversity hotspots, humans must create biodiversity hotspots which are regions that will nurture, preserve and protect the species from the danger of going extinct in the wild or being hunted by other predators or men.
  • There will help protect them from dangers and improve the biodiversity of the planet.  It will add to the ecological productivity of the environment.

Answer:

Answer

Explanation:

The very first generation of star systems in the universe probably consisted only of hydrogen and helium. This means that,

There were no comets or asteroids in these first-generation star systems. As the comets and asteroids were the only soruce of elements other than Hydrogen and Heliums ( As starts mainly consists of helium and hydrogen).
