Answer:

For northern hemisphere, the altitude will decrease. For southern hemisphere, the altitude will increase

Explanation:

Because of the spherical shape of the Earth the altitude (separation from the horizon in degrees) of the celestial pole changes as per the latitude of the place. The altitude of the celestial pole is equal to the latitude of the observer.

If the observer is in the northern hemisphere and moves south the altitude of the celestial pole will decrease.

If the observer is in the southern hemisphere and moves south the altitude of the celestial pole will increase.

An object has a velocity of 8 m/s and a kinetic energy of 480 J. What is the mass of the object? (Formula: ) KE=1/2mv squared
Julli [10]

Answer:15kg

Explanation:

kinetic energy=ke=480J

Velocity=v=8m/s

Mass=m

Ke=0.5 x m x v x v

480=0.5 x m x 8 x 8

480=32m

Divide both sides by 32

480/32=32m/32

15=m

Mass=15kg

Find the average velocity of the car during the time last three second interval. Answer in units of m/s.
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

<u>Average Velocity:</u>

When a body covers some displacement moving from point A to B, in a given time,t. Then dividing the total distance covered by the time taken to complete the displacement is called as the average velocity of that car.

We can calculate the average velocity of car by subtracting the initial displacement of a body,s₁ from  the final displacement position of the body, s₂. And then dividing by the initial time,t₁ been subtracted from the final time,t₂.

  • Δv=x₂-x₁/t₂-t₁,

We will get the required results, now if we want to obtain the results in the final three seconds then, we can have the following explanation to that as given.

Explanation:

Lets say, that we have the car moving for 10 seconds and then it stops at the eleventh second of the trip on final position, of the displacement. Then we divide the whole trips into small segments, as we will have the different velocity at each interval but, the velocity is unknown at the last 3 seconds is unknown=?.

  • Total time taken, Δt= 11 seconds,
  • Then lets say the velocity at the 8th second is , v=25 m/s,then
  • Δv=x₂-(25)/11-0,⇒Δv=x₂-25/11,

g We saw in class that in a pendulum the string does no work. We also saw that the normal force does no work on an object slidin
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

From question (a) and (b) the pendulum motion is perpendicular to the force so the normal force will do no work and the tension in the string of the pendulum will not work

       i.e Normal \ Force(N)  = mg cos \theta

And \theta = 90 so

           N = 0

c

An example will be a where a stone is attached to the end of a string and is made to move in a circular motion while keeping the other end of the string in a fixed position

d

A dog walking along a surface which has friction, here the frictional force would acting in the direction of the motion and this would do positive work
