LCM=product of highest occurring primes in the numbers prime factorization.

GCF=product of shared primes in the numbers prime factorization.

16=2*2*2*2

Since the GCF is 8 N and 16 share only 2*2*2

Since the LCM is 48 and 16 has 2*2*2*2 the other number has a factor of 3

So the other number is 2*2*2*3=24

N=24

PLS HELP. Find the first four terms of the recursive sequence defined by the following formula:
Gnoma [55]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the recursive formula a_{n} = \frac{a_{n-1} }{4} and

a_{4} = 2 \frac{1}{4} = \frac{9}{4}, then

\frac{a_{3} }{4} = \frac{9}{4} ( multiply both sides by 4 )

a₃ = 4 × \frac{9}{4} = 9

\frac{a_{2} }{4} = 9 ( multiply both sides by 4 )

a₂ = 36

\frac{a_{1} }{4} = 36 ( multiply both sides by 4 )

a₁ = 144

The first 4 terms are

144, 36, 9, 2 \frac{1}{4}

I need help with these...
DaniilM [7]
All you have to do is do the distributive property. So, for the first one you would do 5 times x which equals 5x and then you would do 5 times 4 which equals twenty. All you are left with is the addition sign. Your full equation now would be 5x+20

12 grapes cost 90 $how many can bought in 40$
likoan [24]

Let x = the amount of grapes that can be bought for 0.40.

Note: By 90 I assume you mean 90 cents. The same for 40.

12/x = 0.90/0.40

0.90x = 12(0.40)

0.90x = 4.80

x = 4.80 ÷ 0.90

x = 5.33333

We can round the decimal to the ones place to get 5 grapes.
