a.runoff

Runoff is when water on non permeable surfaces just slides down that surface which eventually will make its' way to our water ways. For instance, if you wash your car on your cement driveway then the soapy water will create runoff and go into your street sewer which eventually will make its' way to a water way. With pesticides, if it rains when you put the pesticides on the crops the water will get those toxic chemicals and create runoff.

After 2 weeks of radiation therapy for cancer of the breast a client experiences some erythema over the area being irradiated. t
gayaneshka [121]
The correct answer is that "further teaching on skin care is necessary". This patient is using tepid water to cleanse the area as well as applying ice three times a day. The nurse should educate the patient that the extremes of temperatures are not necessary and should be avoided such as warm to hot water as well as cold water or even ice. Cold water or ice will constrict blood vessels in the area and can produce tissue necrosis by ischemia. Warm to hot water can scald the skin (if hot enough) and even promote the redness as warm water dilates blood vessels.

In the citric acid cycle when an aldol addition occurs in a biological system, how do the amino acids contained in the Citrate S
kotegsom [21]

Answer:

Citrate Synthase facilitates the formation of citrate by deprotonating Acetyl CoA and by protonating the carbonyl oxygen of oxaloacetate

Explanation:

Citrate synthase is a key enzyme in the citric acid cycle that functions to catalyze the formation of citrate from oxaloacetate and acetyl-CoA: acetyl-CoA + oxaloacetate + H2O >> citrate + CoA-SH (Coenzyme A ). This enzyme contains three amino acids at its active site that work together to catalyze the conversion of acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate into citrate. This active site acts by abstracting (deprotonating) a proton from the alpha carbon of Acetyl CoA which serves as the nucleophile. Subsequently, the active site of the enzyme also protonates the carbonyl oxygen of oxaloacetate, which then suffers nucleophilic attack and thereby facilitating nucleophilic substitution reaction.

Why did Bryson consider his Appalachian Trail map useless?
Juli2301 [7.4K]
The lack of detail and scaling makes the Appalachian trail map useless. An evidence coming from the story is it has a scale of 1:100,000 which compresses the places, the routes, trails of the real world into a mere centimeter in the map.
