Through (-2, -3), perp. to y = x- 2/1
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

The equation of line passing through point ( - 2 , - 3 ) and slope 1 is          y = x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation of line as :

y = x - \frac{2}{1}

i.e y = x - 2

The standard equation of line is given as

y = m x + c ,

where m is the slope of the line and c is the y-intercept

Now, comparing the line , we have

Slope = m = 1

Now, The other line is perpendicular to the first line

So, from perpendicular property of line

The product of their slope = - 1

Let The slope of other line = M

So,  m × M = - 1

Or,  ( - 1 ) × M = - 1

or M = \frac{- 1}{- 1}

∴  M = 1

So , The slope of other line = M = 1

∵ The other line is passing through point ( x , y ) =  ( - 2 , - 3 )

Now, satisfying the points and slope with standard line equation

I.e y = M x + c

or, - 3 = 1 × ( - 2 ) + c

or, -3 = - 2 + c

or, - 3 + 2 = c

∴  c = - 1

So, The intercept of other line = c = - 1

Now The equation of line with slope intercept

y = 1 × x + ( - 1 )

Or, y = x - 1

Hence The equation of line passing through point ( - 2 , - 3 ) and slope 1 is  y = x - 1       Answer

Show how to solve 6/15=2/?
Bas_tet [7]
There are two way sof doing this question:
1st solution  is :
6/15 = 2/5
because 6/15 is divisible by 3 and it is done by this form :
     3 X 2 = 6
       and
    3 X 5 = 15
2nd solution is:
6/15 = 2/?
here we suppose that the missing value is x:
6/15 = 2/x

you shift the denominators and then multiply them by the their numerators:
6 * x = 15 * 2
      6x = 30
now you divide 6 on both sides:
6x/6 = 30/6
      x = 5

What's the larger angle?
topjm [15]

Answer:

100°

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the angles om a straight line add up to 180°

10x°+8x°=180°

18x°=180°

x=10

The larger angle = 10x°

= 10(10)°

= 100°

The mean hourly wage for employees in goods-producing industries is currently (Bureau of Labor Statistics website, April, 12, 20
abruzzese [7]

Complete Question:

The mean hourly wage for employees in goods-producing industries is currently $24.57 (Bureau of Labor Statistics website, April, 1 2, 201 2). Suppose we take a sample of employees from the manufacturing industry to see if the mean hourly wage differs from the reported mean of $24.57 for the goods-producing industries. State the null and alternative hypotheses we should use to test whether the population mean hourly wage in the manufacturing industry differs from the population mean hourly wage in the goods-producing industries

Answer:

Null hypothesis, H₀ : μ = 24.57

Alternative hypothesis, H_{a} :  μ ≠ 24.57

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean hourly wage for the goods producing industry = $24.57

Since we want to see if the mean of hourly wage for the manufacturing industry is equal to $24.57( The mean f hourly wage for the good producing industry)

Therefore the, null hypothesis will be that there is no significant difference between the means of the hourly wages of both the goods producing and the manufacturing industries, while the alternative hypothesis will be that the means of their hourly wages are significantly different

Null hypothesis, H₀ : μ = 24.57

Alternative hypothesis, H_{a} :  μ ≠ 24.57
