Angel bought 8 oranges and 11 apples for a total of $15.22. He knows that each orange coat $0.50 and reasoned that each Apple mu

st cost a little more than $1.00. Orange costs $0.50 and reasoned that each Apple must cost a little more than $1.00. Is this guess reasonable? Why or why not?

If angel bought 8 oranges, and he knows they are 50 cents, then you can multiply 8 by 0.50 to determine how much he spent only on oranges:
8 x 0.50 = 4.00

Then, you should subtract that value from the total that he spent, to see how much was spent on apples:
15.22 - 4 = 11.22

Finally, because you know Angel bought 11 apples, divide the remaining amount he spent by 11 to determine how much each apple was:
11.22 / 11 = 1.02

So, yes, Angel's guess was reasonable, because $1.02 is, indeed, a little more than $1.00
Hope this helps :)

The savings in a bank account can be modeled using S = 1250e^0.45t, where t is the number of years the
morpeh [17]

Using the given exponential function, it is found that it will take 1.5 years for the  amount of savings to double from the initial amount deposited of $1250.

<h3>Exponential function:</h3>

The <em>exponential function</em> that models the savings in the bank account is given by:

S(t) = 1250e^{0.45t}

  • In which t is the time in years that the money has been in the account.

The time to double from the initial amount deposited of $1250 is t for which S(t) = 2(1250) = 2500, hence:

S(t) = 1250e^{0.45t}

2500 = 1250e^{0.45t}

e^{0.45t} = \frac{2500}{1250}

e^{0.45t} = 2

\ln{e^{0.45t}} = \ln{2}

0.45t = \ln{2}

t = \frac{\ln{2}}{0.45}

t = 1.5

It will take 1.5 years for the  amount of savings to double from the initial amount deposited of $1250.

Wesly reads 60 pages in 20 minutes if he reads at the same constant rate what equation could represent this as a proportional re
sergey [27]

Answer:

let m be minutes, p be pages

pages read = times(in minutes) * reading speed(pages per minutes)

p=m*(60/20)

p=3m

For every increase of a minute of reading time, pages that Wesly have read will increase by 3
