Answer: must understand that fighting for freedom is extremely difficult.

In this excerpt, Paine argues that people who really desire freedom (in this case the colonists) must understand that it is extremely difficult to obtain it. In order to "reap the blessings of freedom," these men must "undergo the fatigues (efforts and suffering) of supporting it." Only if we are willing to fight and to make sacrifices for it will we be able to enjoy it.

What is an example of dramatic irony in Huckleberry Finn?
oksano4ka [1.4K]

A good example of Twain's use of irony occurs when Huck struggles with whether or not he should turn in Jim and go to hell for doing it. This type of irony, known as dramatic irony, occurs when the audience understands that Huck is really doing the right thing by not turning in Jim, but he doesn't realize it yet.

Answer:

the use of similes

Explanation:

the author uses similes to rouse up the story. the use of similes can add a dramatic effect; it adds color to the writing. here, the author compares the wind to a dragon's roar and the flapping sail to a wounded bird. these comparisons help to make this part of the story more exciting. it helps intensify the imagination of the reader.
