4(x + 1) + 8 = 24

Simplify.

4x + 4 + 8 = 24

Add like terms.

4x + 12 = 24

Subtract 12 from both sides.

4x = 24 - 12

Simplify.

4x = 12

Divide both sides by 4.

x = 12/4

x = 3

And, if you meant 3.75 - 2.53, then that equals 1.22.

Remember, always line up the decimal points! :)

~Hope I helped!~

Jenna is putting a ribbon around the border of a square frame. The area of the frame is 196 square inches. How long will the rib
ehidna [41]

Answer: 56 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Area of square frame = 196 in²

Area of a square = a²

Where a = side length

Hence side length (a) of the square :

a² = 196

a = √196

a = 14

To find the length of the ribbon required :

Find the perimeter of the square :

Perimeter of a square = 4a

= 4 * 14

= 56 inches

Find the area of the triangle.<br> Area<br> square units (Round to decimal places!)
Helen [10]

<u>Given</u>:

Given that the triangle with ∠B = 45°

The length of the side a is 4 units.

The length of the side c is 8 units.

We need to determine the area of the triangle.

<u>Area of the triangle:</u>

The area of the triangle can be determined using the formula,

Area =  \frac{1}{2} ac \ sin B

Substituting a = 4, c = 8 and ∠B = 45° in the above formula, we have;

Area =  \frac{1}{2} (4)(8) \ sin 45^{\circ}

Simplifying, we get;

Area =  \frac{1}{2} (4)(8) (0.707)

Area =  \frac{1}{2} (22.624)

Area =  11.31

Thus, the area of the triangle is 11.31 square units.
