Which statement describes how connotation is used in this passage?
Alla [95]

The statement that describes how connotation is used in this passage is:

B. The connotation of the word "ripped" adds to the violent feeling of the passage.

Connotation has to do with the mood that a word creates. The word "ripped" means tearing something in an eager and violent way.The passage is obviously violent. The word deprived, which means the lack of something, is followed by the word "joys". Therefore, the word "joys" based on the contexts actually refers to the lack of fun. On the other hand, the word "strange" is describing the eyes of the monster, not a confused world. Finally, the word "warrior" does not bring a connotation of pride, because he is deprived of joys and he is evil.
