Area of the Rectangle = bh = 8(17)=136

Area of a Triangle = \frac{bh}{2}=\frac{8(17)}{2}=\frac{136}{2}=68

Take both areas and subtract them:

136-68=68

This means shaded area = 68 in^2

Hope this helps!

It's 68". Because a triangle in a rectangle that spans all sides is half the area of the rectangle.

If you flip two coins 96 times what is the best prediction for the number of times they would both land on tails
emmainna [20.7K]
Flipping two coins gives four possibilities: HH, HT, TH, TT

So P(TT)=1/4

So we'd expect a quarter of the trials to be two tails.

\frac 1 4 \times 96 = 24 trials expected to be two tails.
